Graubunden, Switzerland
leaving Täsch, heading up the Rhone river valley...
...we follow the route of the Glacier Express train
we'll be scaling the Alps by car today!
the road heads up toward the Furka pass, at 2430m elevation
we can look back at our routes in and out of the valley
then we start down, into Graubünden and the Vorderrhein
the route levels out a bit as we end the day's drive
we stop at last at the oldest Swiss town, Chur
we arrive in time to catch an exhibit on artist Alberto Giacometti
then a slow stroll through the old town
on Obere Gasse, near the Obertor...
...Marla finds a flower
ducking into a courtyard off Martinsplatz
some parts of the town are very well-preserved
back on the square, we go into Kirche St. Martin
the church has stained glass by Augusto Giacometti
on the street again
now walking up the hill toward the cathedral
hmmm...
...not sure about these
the gate tower to the Episcopal courtyard
the cathedral
a quiet area in town
back down the hill, into the tight streets again
a last view of Chur
