Lilium, Oriental Hybrids
Not to be confused with the so called Asiatic hybrids, these are hybrids bred from East Asian species such as Lilium auratum, L.speciosum and L.japonicum and include hybrids between these and L.henryi. Collectively they comprise the most spectacular of all hybrids. They are late flowering and may carry several flowerheads on one stem, which is inclined to make them top heavy and in need of support. All are intolerant of lime. There are four sub groups: "carmen", "esperanto", "evelina", and "stargazer". Stargazer is one of the most commonly grown in the group and the first to have upward-facing flowers - these are rich crimson with darker spots and paler on the margins of the petals.

Here's to share with you the celebration of its beauty....
