The Restored J Class Norfolk & Western #611 Steam Locomotive And Train

On March 31, 2015, the J Class #611 Steam Locomotive fired up for the first time since December 7, 1994 after a complete restoration. Built in 1950 in Norfolk & Western's East End Shops in Roanoke, it was the 12th of 14 J Class passenger steam locomotives. Today it is owned by the Virginia Museum Of Transportation located in Roanoke, Virginia and being used for special excursions and display.
