ClearSkyClock 2008-02-20A.JPG

Clear Sky clock for the event. The eclipse started at 8:42pm (1st Umbra contact) with totality starting at 10:00pm. This was a little close for comfort. Clear Sky Clock is pretty accurate but it's not a stop watch :-)

I was very fortunate, and surprised to see that their forecast, generated at 11:42am that morning, was very accurate, more accurate than the NOAA weather forecast, which suggested clearing skies at midnight- too little too late.

www.clearskyclock.com is one of my most important observing and planning tools. I also use it to plan wildlife outings and general outdoor photographic work.
