The Cardiff Tree by the Sea

OK it was pretty foggy at the coast yesterday so you'll have to trust me that there really is a sea out there. So the story is that for over the last 20 years an anonymous donor has put up a Christmas tree on Cardiff State Beach for the holidays. It has become quite a popular tradition, and people bring ornaments to put on it and have their pictures taken by it. I was happy to see it was still standing yesterday and it helped to brighten an otherwise foggy walk on the beach.

That's a nice tradition to have. I like the Santa hat up on top.

Now that's really terrific! A great and noble thing to do. We have an anonymous tree like this but it's in the forest. V

What a wonderful tradition, and the tree, despite being past its holiday prime, certainly enlivens the dreary scene.

I must admit that is something I never expected to see. Very cool photo journalistic shot with a great story. ~V~
