PCA-CHS 2016 Tour No. 5 -- Demo of Porsche 917 & Other Race Cars at Simeone Museum, July 9

The Chesapeake Region of the Porsche Club of America held its fifth tour for 2016 with a drive through Maryland's northern Baltimore and northern Harford counties, as well as through Delaware and a small stretch of Pennsylvania.

This July 9 event started at the Horsepower Cars & Coffee in Hunt Valley, MD, where HC&C founder Will Williams had kindly reserved a parking area for us. Fourteen participants in 9 Porsches enjoyed some twisty and scenic back roads in Maryland on our way to a demonstration of four race cars at the Simeone Automotive Museum in Philadelphia. Fortunately, despite being the tour organizer, I had enough time to take a number of photos at this event.

The theme of this demonstration was the role of aerodynamics in the development of racing cars, as exemplified by four cars from Fred Simeone's fabulous collection. For more information about his awesome museum, visit its Web site at http://www.simeonemuseum.org/ .
