Hagley Car Show -- Automobiles That Caught My Eye, September 2011

The Hagley Car Show in Wilmington, Delaware, is held annually at the Hagley Estate, the ancestral home of the DuPont family and the birthplace of their chemical empire. This gallery is my second of two on the 2011 event, which was held on Sept. 18. It presents the automobiles that caught my eye among the 500 or so displayed on the show field -- other than the "featured" rumble-seat cars shown in an earlier gallery. Two of the cars presented here are fabulous and very rare DuPonts built in 1929 and 1931 by a company owned by E. Paul DuPont.

I used a Nikon D300 with an 18-200mm Nikkor VR zoom lens to shoot the photos in this gallery. Note that the images and other content here are protected by copyright laws. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized use, copying, printing or direct linking is prohibited.

I am watching the new episode of My Classic Car that features this show and looking at your wonderful images of it at the same time. I liked your shots a lot back when you first posted them and even more so now that I have seen the context of what the venue looks like. This is definitely on my list - hopefully for next year. ~BV~
