Every fair-weather Saturday, hundreds of car enthusiasts in Virginia, D.C., Maryland and neighboring states wake up early to bring their toys to this 7-to-9 a.m. gathering about half an hour west of Washington, D.C. Usually, many attendees come and go, with some staying only for a short while. Many show up sporadically, some with a different car each time, so most cars tend to be different from one Saturday to the next, practically making every visit worthwhile.

On Oct. 5, I spent quite a bit of time chatting with fellow C&C attendees, which meant I was not able to shoot as many photos as usual or as I would have liked. But the point of going to an event such as this is summed up by the Porsche Club of America slogan: "It's not only the cars, it's the people." So I had no regrets.
