I attended my first Cars & Coffee in 2013 in Great Falls, Virginia, on April 6. The early morning was a bit chilly but otherwise perfect. The turnout was very good. Every fair-weather Saturday, hundreds of car ethusiasts wake up early to bring their cars to the 7-to-9 a.m. gathering about half an hour west of Washington, D.C. As usual, many attendees come and go, with some staying only for a short while. Many show up sporadically, some with a different car each time, so most cars tend to be different from one Saturday to the next, practically making every visit worthwhile. Interesting cars from Lotus Elans to Lamborghini Aventadors show up, along with unusual automobiles (for the U.S.) such as a 1950s Messerschmitt micro bubblecar and a 1967 Ford Cortina. On April 6, I caught only a glimpse of a black Aventador, which was leaving with an aural flourish as I arrived. All the other Aventadors I had seen previously were in car shows, not on the street.
