I stayed up half the night watching the heavy rain,
and listening to the thunder and lightning.
It came along in three waves, between about midnight and 03.30am.
I've never heard thunder and seen lightning like that up here before.
Though I've seen big thunderstorms in the tropics.
We both watched through the window, and dozed off in between,
then fell asleep listening to the lovely sound of the heavy rain...

The river was still up high this evening after work.
Low cloud and a light drizzle,
maybe a bit more thunder tonight.
