The images in this gallery have been manipulated only by applying auto levelss and smart sharpen (0.9 radius, 90%) in Photoshop CS2. The sharpening seems fair since I always shoot with sharpening turned to lowest, figuring that I can always sharpen to taste later, and I hate halos, which sometimes show up with the in-camera sharpening set to higher levels. The shot of the drain hole in the shorts (which is about 1/4 inch in diameter) has not been manipulated at all, as I recall.

These are very large images and may take a while to load if your connection is slow. They were saved as quality 8 in Photoshop, which must compress them more than the camera does, as images direct from the camera are usually about 2.5 to 3 Mb, and these take up less space, about 1 to 1.5 Mb.

Note that the bird measurers and the spider were both shot at ISO 200, and I have not applied any extra noise reduction. This camera produces images usable as-is up to ISO 400, and with aftermarket noise reduction, even the 800 and 1600 speeds can be usable. I will try to add an ISO test series soon.

You will need to click on Original size (below the image) to see these in full resolution.
