Majesty of Elk

This gallery is a tribute to Rocky Mountain Elk, also known as Wapiti. These photos were made in wild and natural surroundings of British Columbia, and Alberta Canada in the spring, the calving season and autumn, the ruttting season of 2005 ~ 20010. A brilliant gallery! As one who lives in Elk country, (the Wind River Range in Wyoming), I appreciate how difficult it can be to get close enough to get good shots, never mind excellent ones like yours. You've really captured there personalities here, wonderful work.

was last summer.
I also saw, in the Brakendale art gallery on the road to whistler,
your exceptional and beautiful photo work on the Valley of the
Eagles. I was there with Michael C., the cousin of my girlfriend.

Majestic indeed! This elk gallery is among the most beautiful wildlife galleries that I have ever seen, at least on the par with your previous eagle, snowy owl and raven series. A fine combination of close-up views, where the attention is mainly focused on the delicate textures of soft skin and gnarled antler, bright eye and velvety muzzle, and more distant shots where elk and landscape blend in a glorious tribute to the natural environment of Canada. The perfect timing of the shots and the subtle editing of light and colour result in a series of gorgeous, unforgettable images. Congratulations! GMV :o)
