The Annual Witney Feast is staged every September for 2 days & features public hog roasts.
The first fair took place in 1243, held for two or three days following the first Sunday after 8 September, the day of the annual parish feast.
In the Middle Ages, the fair was a place for Witney-dwellers to trade cattle, pigs, horses and cheese, a tradition which died out in the 1960s.
