Hawk Stone

Dean, Oxfordshire

Day 8

Again it was Dull, dull, dull today, when's it all going to change?
This is Hawk Stone, a weather-worn eight-foot tall standing stone, located in a farmers field near the sleepy village of Dean (home village of David Cameron). Muddy knees getting this one, hopefully I will return to get a sunrise or sunset shot later this year...

Nice angle, the dull day has played to your advantage here, nice b&w

What an angry stone :)

This works great in B&W good job. Grey days were the light is flat really pushes us all to the limit.

dull days are great for black and whites, esp. if you want to go for higher contrast images ... like this one ... although I imagine you could push it even further for more drama and to squeeze out every detail in the rock
interesting is that it is impossible to get a sense of scale for this thing: it could be tiny or it could be huge

Yes, we got the dull day too - but you've managed to get a great, atmospheric shot! I almost feel like the rock is frowning down on me with those eyes at the top...!
