Chitral Shahi Mosque

Chitral, Northern Areas

This picture of the Chitral Shahi Mosque was actually taken two years before the horse trip, but I've included it here with other pictures from Chital. It was taken one morning after an early morning prayer and breakfast, as I returned from a morning walk. The reflection really caught my fancy!
The mosque was constructed in 1924 by Mehtar Sir Shuja ul Mulk. Skilled craftsmen were brought to Chitral from India for the construction of this mosque. Inside the mosque a Madrassa for religious teaching and offices of Chitral State's Religious court, which was called 'The Mizan e Shariat', were also located. The tomb of Mehtar Shuja ul Mulk is also situated in one corner of the mosque. The architecture has a great resemblance with Moghul architecture,
