For the past two years I've coordinated the bulk ordering of swim platforms for Nonsuch owners. To date there have been over a dozen swim platforms purchased. Well, it's that time again and I would like to ask if there is any interest for doing a repeat order this year.
The following represents the current pricing. Please note that it is expressed in Canadian dollars and is exclusive of taxes and shipping
$ 1185 platform without slats
$ 1395 platform with StarBoard slats attached
$ 320 new ladder to integrate with stern rail & incl. StarBoard steps
$ 375 alternative telescoping ladder mounted under platform & incl. StarBoard steps
(note: ladder extends 40" down into the water)
None made for 22s so have yet to determine what width these will be
Dimensions for the 26s, 260s, 30s, and 324s are 62-66" wide X 20" deep
Dimensions for the 33s, 354s, and 36s are 70-74" wide X 20" deep
written later for this gallery . . .

Considerations . . .

ensure that the platform is mounted at a height that allows the ladder to integrate with the existing pushpit rail

Location:
prior to drilling for any of the mounting brackets ensure that there are no obstructions on the inside of the transom
How do you get one:
once a year, in September, Ron Schryver ( alphaw@sympatico.ca ) will solicit owners to see if there is enough interest (minimum 5 units) to place a group order (to thus obtain a discount) with John Bamford of Stainless Outfitters located in Barrie, Ontario
Construction of the platforms begins in February and they are shipped via Fedex by the end of March. John will contact each customer to determine shipping and tax details
otherwise, order anytime but pay more money

Please write or contact me directly as this is a very bad and serious problem. I have no idea 'who you are are' or I would have contacted you directly.
I think photos of the various problems SHOULD be displayed here in addition to your words that properly reflect your obvious problems.

This IS a terrible shame. I know Ron Schryver will be heartsick about all this.

My swim platform purchase from this company has been the most frustrating purchase I've ever made. The product was promised for the 1st half of March 2008. I received it in mid May. It came without mounting hardware as well as loops in the aft corners of the platform that I was assured were standard design features. In addition, the mounting position for the telescoping ladder was just plain dangerous. I figured that stuff happens and that I just was unfortunate in having my order get screwed up. The company agreed to take the platform back and make modifications. However, I got jerked around with shipping dates for both pick up of the platform I was returning and delivery of the new one. The net result was that I was delayed another 12 days from what the company had told me.
The new platform had the modifications made for correcting the ladder mount position, but I expected that for 2K, they would at least polish out the welds. The lower supports for the platform were an inch too short and my yard had to fabricate new ones. The step for the transom was missing the tread. The gate for the pushpit was an inch too short. They did not use a jig to drill the holes for the bases of the tubes that connect the platform to the transom. The holes for each base had slightly different placement. This is their business. You'd expect some uniformity here.
The fit to the transom was awfull. I know because I worked for 3.5 days with my yard to get the thing on. The yard charged 2K for installation. They said cost should have been less than half that amount if the platform had been fabricated correctly. The performance of this company didn't surprise them though. They had dealt with Stainless Outfitters in the past & were familiar with their subpar track record.
Lastly, Stainless outfitters will not return phone calls. Period. You can call them & they are as sweet as pie to talk to but their product does not live up to their talk. In fact, 2 weeks ago I called John Bamford about the transom step. He said he'd get one out right away. I followed up with an e-mail and at the same time informed him of the too short pushpit gate. Well you guessed it. I haven't received them yet & doubt I ever will. These guys are bad news. Photos of the problems avaiable upon request.
