We had a GREAT time at FINZ on the water in Salem MA. It was a little like a very small slice of the 2004 Boston Rendezvous !
I decided the Wednesday morning prior to have dinner with sailing friends from Costa Rica who were transiting from Connecticut to "Downeast" (that's “up” the coast) Maine. They were stuck in Manchester-By-The-Sea, north of Boston, with prop shaft problems.
I sent an e-blast that afternoon to 12 of the boats in our South-Maine and New Hampshire Flotillas and to most of the 32 boats in our Mass Bay Fleet. Naturally, few could react or even respond in 24 hours.
I was so gratified and pleased that the following could respond and make it (I might add through terrible rainy weather and the tail end of Boston rush hour traffic!) Those attending made this a mini Boston 2004 reunion !
New owner Pam had suggested FINZ on the waterfront and that's where we all gathered for wonderful company, excellent food, and fun toasts with good wine !

Jerry called to report they were up to their eyeballs getting ready for that weekend’s Crocker Memorial race, which weekend event he Chairs and they work each year with over 80 boats entering! The Monday after, they and the Calders were off together for a week or two of cruising together!
Dave called and their boat had just been T-boned by a C&C 41 doing about 8 knots. Seems likely the insurance company may write her off. Luckily no one was hurt seriously.
Seems Bill Conly and Angela shared some common thread through ancestors back to a Colonial era (?) shipwreck on Thatcher’s Island. I don’t know, ask them! lol
The food and drink at FINZ was very fine and the company was even better. Sailors having fun with sailors. Not half bad !
