NONSENSE 26C 148 is a Classic layout. She has been freshwater sailed and has been well maintained with constant upgrades. She is in top condition! NONSENSE was long in southern Georgian Bay at Midland, Ontario. She now hails from the National Yacht Club in Toronto, Ontario.

Detailed description:

Sail & Rigging : New (2003) Quantum sail, with blue sail cover. New (2001) topping lift and hangar lines. All original running lines replaced. Factory blocks replaced with Garhauer blocks. Custom Cressman stainless steel halyard mast collar cheek block assembly and choker cheek block. Spare halyard. Original rope clutches replaced with new Spinlock clutches. Electric Nilsson halyard winch. The above rigging allows for easy one-person sail hoists, great sail control while underway and instant sail take-down (sail comes down like an elevator!).

Deck: All external wood trim stripped and Cetol system applied. New (2004) teak companionway door boards. Main forward overhead deck hatch rebuilt by Atkins & Hoyle in 2001. Stainless steel bow and stern rails (with folding swim ladder), dual lifelines, Lifesling. Stainless steel bow pulpit with dual anchor rollers: one Bruce anchor and one CQR anchor, with associated chain/rope.

Accommodations: The Nonsuch 26 has 6ft. 1in. standing headroom. There is a varnished teak and holly sole, full moulded headliner and satin teak bulkheads and joinerwork. The forward cabin has two 6ft. 4in. settee berths, including one, which converts to a pullout double bunk. The forward cabin also has a large teak drop-leaf table. The aft cabin has one 6ft. 3in. single quarter berth on the port side and a second wider 6ft. 3in. quarter berth on the starboard side.

Cockpit: Edson wheel steering system, pedestal mount with cables to quadrant. Full cockpit enclosure (medium blue in colour), including dodger, bimini, windows and screens. Whitlock folding teak cockpit table. Full cockpit cushions. Force 10 BBQ on stern rail.

Hull: Shoal keel with 3ft. 9in. draft. Below the water line: hull sandblasted and 5 coats of Interlux Interprotect barrier epoxy system applied in 2003. VC17 antifouling bottom coat. Above the water line: hull off-white in colour. Striping: wide blue stripe (approx. 5 inches) and narrow burgundy (approx. 2 inches). Entire hull wet sand polished in 2004; looks great, free from major nicks, scratches and abrasions

Engine: Westerbeke 3 cylinder 21 hp diesel inboard. Approximately 820 hours on the hour meter. Racor fuel filter. Well maintained and in good running condition. New generator, new water pump, new engine mounts, re-built exhaust manifold, numerous new hoses. Miscellaneous spares included: belt, filters, etc. Aluminium 24 US gal. fuel tank. Engine oil analysis completed in 2004 and results were fine: normal wear and oil condition. Report available for viewing. Two blade fixed propeller installed, with spare Gori two blade folding propeller.

Electrical System: Both DC and AC electrical systems with appropriate panels. Battery bank expanded (2001) to include 3rd battery. Three new batteries spring 2006. Guest battery charger and AC shore power system, including shore power cord.

Electronics/Nav: New (2001) Raytheon ST60 depth and speed. Raytheon Apelco VHF marine radio. Ritchie pedestal compass. Nautech Autohelm 3000. New (2005) Jensen marine radio and CD player, with 2 speakers.

Head: New (2000) Jabsco head, including hoses. Original 25 US gal. holding tank in good condition. Head sink drain hose and marelon sea cock new in 2004.

Water System: Includes two 30 US gal. original water tanks in good condition and very clean. Numerous water hoses have been replaced. Variable speed DC water pump, manual foot pump in galley and manual hand pump in head all new in 2004.

Galley: Seaward propane galley stove with two burners and oven. Propane detector in bilge area. Refrigeration system by Nova Kool – refrigerator & freezer work well: freezes ice cubes! Galley sink drain hose and marelon sea cock new in 2004. Sliding galley work shelf located in aft port quarter berth.

Bilge Pumps: One manual hand pump in aft cockpit. One 12 volt DC electric bilge pump with automatic/manual switch.

Storage: Custom Keeble two-piece winter canvas cover and aluminium frame set. Steel Cradle.

Manuals: Complete set.

Tender: Zodiac C285 tender and 6 hp Mercury 4 stroke. Both in good condition, lightly used, new in 2001.
