Bruce Kirby drew upon his experience with the Laser's free-standing mast, added the convenience of wishbone booms, the simplicity of the catboat and the safety of the ketch rig to produce the Georgian 34. She is a classic catboat design, and this beamy centerboarder will be as much at home in the coves of her native Georgian Bay as racing down the Tongue of the Ocean with a 1000 square feet of sails set. The stability of the Georgian plus the shock absorber effect from the bend of the free-standing masts and ease of handling will instill confidence in everyone who sails her. The spacious deep cockpit will seat a crowd, while below the open concept and 6'4" headroom will never give that closed-in feeling. Twelve opening ports and hatches will keep the cabin fresh and light. Each of the three sleeping areas has its own dresser with drawers and lockers. With oversized tanks and copious storage, the Georgian is certainly a yacht for all reasons. She is truly a unique experience.
