Day Five - Crumbs
I had intended to take a photo of the entire slice of banana bread, then I though, hmm, I'll just take a bite and then take the photo.
This was the result.
In other news, clean eating banana bread for the win.
Thanks Opera Girl!
Day Four - Spaghetti Pie
So the ingredients in total cost me about $6.00, give or take. And the recipe took about an hour and twenty minutes to put together, but damn was it worth it.
I did make a few changes like add some diced green pepper and some sliced turkey bacon.
Day Three - Community Supported Agriculture.
I am a big supporter of local farms. I joined our local CSA here in Georgia,
http://farmersfreshcsa.com/ , and highly recommend looking up your county to see if there is a similar service.
This week's bounty from the farms is:
Plum Tomatoes
Seedless Watermelon
Muscadines
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Bars
Blueberry Jam
Green Bell Peppers
All amazing, locally and organically grown(or made with organic products).
Day Two - Monastery Salads
I have this 12 Months of Monastery Salads book that has some of the most amazing recipes, and this is a salad that was inspired by a recipe I found in that book.
Egg & Tomato Salad for 2.
Dressing:
3 tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 1/2 Tbs Tarragon Vinegar
Salt & Pepper to taste
Dash of Mustard Powder
Salad:
Handful of Mixed Salad Greens
4 diced campari tomatoes
2 hard boiled eggs
Sprinkle of Feta Cheese
handful of crushed organic tortilla chips
Mix salad together. Whisk dressing together, and add to salad based on personal preference.
Very yummy. And very good for you.
Day One - Breakfast
This morning's breakfast was really simple, organic cinnamon & raisin granola with organic bananas.
