Photos are of young "Camper Jack" Sullivan of Melrose, New Mexico at his Cancer Benefit today at the VFW Post 9515 of Portales. There was a motorcycle ride, early in the morning and Jack got to ride with them all, with his new "do-rag". Photos are of Jack playing pool with Brian Sapp..who also rode in the motorcycle run, with his wife Christine. THANK YOU..
Cancer and kids should NOT go together. I got involved with young 6-7 year old Kelsey Sigler, of Roswell, about 1998 or so..while I was working on an AF project in Las Cruces. She was recovering from High Risk Acute Lympoblastic Leukemia and had just completed her 2-3 years of chemo.. She was so depressed with life and just sat around watching aimless television.. I put together an old computer from a bunch of spare parts, and took it over to her. She was not impressed at all, but after I left it there, she fired it up and was learning how to run it. Her folks said it was a miracle gift that lit up her life. Today, she is an absolute whiz on computers.. Here is a couple photos of Kelsey. She recently graduated from high school and is doing well. I insured that Kelsey had some good gifts for all her birthdays and Christmas for many years. She called me her "Uncle Duane". I joined up with St. Judes, when I first met Kelsey..and still am a Partner in Hope after all these years.. One CAN make a difference... I still support Livestrong, Pancan, American Cancer Society and others...
We ALL need to do what we can to fight cancer...to end the suffering and early death of so many..
