The Healing Field.
This memorial was set-up in the city of Northglenn, Colorado, from September 11 thru September 19, 2004. Honoring the victims of the 9/11 attacks, as well as fallen soldiers in the current Iraqi conflict, 4000 some-odd flags were staked into the ground at Northglenn's Recreation Center. Each flag had a sticker on its pole that gave the name of a victim. Additionally, yellow ribbons represented military personnel. A truly humbling and thought-provoking display, these pictures do not do justice to the scope of the project. I'll simply let the pictures speak for themselves.
On a personal note, to native New Yorkers, to residents of Washington D.C., to military families, to anyone directly or indirectly tied to the tragic events of 9/11, you are in my thoughts. Your experiences are unfathomable to me. I'm inspired by your willingness to go on.
