Angel Oak

St John's Island SC

This is a fabulous old specimen of a Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) that is a native species found throughout the coastal Carolina.
No one knows for sure how old it is, its massive trunk circumference is 25 ft and its draping limbs cover a vast area.
