St Mawes - Cornwall

St Mawes. In a very sheltered spot at the junction of the Percuil River and Carrick Roads on the Roseland Peninsula on the South Coast of Cornwall Guarded by a Castle built on the orders of Henry VIII.

A yachtsmen's and walkers delight in summer boats bobbing in the harbour. Windsurfers catching the breeze. The local sailing club often hold races during the season. In season take a boat trip across the Fal Estuary to Falmouth. Or the passenger ferry across the River to Place to explore nearby St Anthony Headland, St Anthony Lighthouse guarding the Roads.

Maybe a walk in the National Trust woodland along side the Percuil River? Or maybe a drive to the Roseland Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and St Just Church. Stopping off at Veryan to see the Roundhouses on the way.

Fancy a boat trip? From rugged cliffs and sandy beaches to the tranquil waters and coves of the River Fal, Pendennis Cruises can take you on a romantic and inspiring trip. Three trips run daily during the season from The Quay.
