Wonderful model of that train. What scale is used for size?

What a great set up. Yesterday on a school trip with 60 students (14/15 yrs) on my coach we passed a garden with a train set up like this running through the whole garden. In typical syle the kids laughed and mocked and were shouting out anorak (an english phrase for people with hobbies that they take very seriously) towards the garden. There was no one about to hear them!
Anyway on the way home the trains were actually running and one of the kids noticed. He yelled out 'look the trains are out'. Everyone dived over to his side to see. The chap in the garden was chuffed to see all these faces pointing and looking eargerly to see where the train had got to as it disappeared through trees and tunnels. One of the lads asked the driver to slow down but he actually pulled up along side the hedge and the kids could see clearly over it into the garden. The chap in the garden then put on a great display for the kids and there was lots of oooing and arrghing and 'there it is' going on. It was great to see and it was educational for alot of them to realise that they had made some unkind and misplaced comments before yet as soon as they had seen how fasinating the hobby could be they were enthralled and captivated.
Sadly I didnt have my camera with me as we were going to watch Shakespere at the theatre but it would have made a great shot.

Sometimes I think it's a real one

Beautiful. Is it scratch built or can you get kits for these?

This looks really nice, especially with that backdrop.

Beautiful model nicely shot. His setup must be: 1. the same scale as yours, and 2. on a raised platform also, since you must be looking beyond a fence? Not much to give it away except that the ties are uniformly sitting on top of the ballast.

Are you sure you don't have a "real" engine in your yard. A wonderful model, great shot.

Roger, is the background fake miniature too? It all looks so real, as it should, eh? Linda S
