Formerly replacing a small bridge was a large scale operation requiring a lot of manpower. Today this small bridge was replaced in a day using the heavy cranes and equipment you see here.
This photo was taken at the crossing of Rendezvous Road and the BNSF mainline near Scott, Louisiana.
Safety was paramount in this, as in every photo we take. There was no rail traffic at the time - obviously the main was blocked.
Railroad crossings are considered private property, they are dangerous places to be. Always expect a train.
