Part of the downtown area of this "off the beaten path" little town named after the first mail carrier.
The town grew as a gathering place in the late 1800's for farmers and ranchers in the area to shop, visit, and relax. As with many smaller towns after World War II many of the residents moved to larger cities where there were more jobs and higher wages.
The towns comeback can be attributed to the efforts of one man Brooks Gremmels who envisioned bringing the community back to what it was in 1935.
