Across from the former Texas and Pacific passenger station in Mineola Texas stands the former caboose used by the Texas Pacific railroad.

Mineola is another town formed by railroads, it served as a crew change point for many years.

The passenger station is served by Amtrak's Texas Eagle, with daily service from San Antonio to Chicago.
