This old house, formerly a monastery, has been bought in 1898 by painters Mary and Frederick Mac Monnies.
They discovered Giverny mid 1880 and, like many American artists who falled in love with the village, decided to live here.
The beautiful garden has been a source of inspiration for the Mac Monnies.
