Birding in Extremadura and Monfragüe Park - May 2006

Extremadura is a wonderful place with several habitats, plains, mountains, wooded areas, meadows, rivers, and very dry areas in summer. Numerous species of mammals, birds, insects, reptiles are living there. It is a wild world, yet protected. In the middle of this region, Monfragüe Park, along the river Tajo, allows quiet life to birds of prey and large raptors such as Eurasian Vultures, Monk Vultures, and varied other species. Wonderful landscapes and birding, it is really a beautiful place!

L'Extrémadure est un endroit superbe regroupant différents habitats, plaines, montagnes, zones boisées, prairies, fleuves, et terres très sèches en été. De nombreuses espèces de mammifères, oiseaux, insectes et reptiles vivent là. C'est un monde sauvage, encore protégé. Au centre de la province, le Parc de Monfragüe, situé le long du Tage, permet aux rapaces de vivre en toute quiétude. Beaux paysages et observation des oiseaux, c'est un endroit magnifique!
