Doņana is a beautiful place between the Atlantic Ocean and the Guadalquivir River.
Several ecosystems offer food, protection and nesting sites to numerous birds’ species.

Doņana gathers beaches and sandy dunes, marshes, ricefields, lagoons, pools, pine forests…
Here, the birds can find all they need for wintering or doing stopovers during their migrations.
Numerous species are resident in the park, such as the famous Purple Swamp-Hen (Porphyrio porphyrio) and several waders.

Water is the main food resource for the birds which animate this superb region.
This large marsh is named “the mirror of the sky”.
