The City 38

Temple of Mithras Queen Victoria Street.

Diggers clearing bomb damage in 1954 for a new development on the west
side of the Walbrook revealed the foundations of a Roman building.
This building Archaeologists say is the Pagan Temple of Mithras.

Mithras is the Sun God who had followers all over the Roman world.

Mithraism was an ancient Persian cult which came to London with the Romans.

Interesting items from this site are on display in the Museum of London.
