I saw this titled as "My time" and I love that title. It speaks to a person's place in time, in history. Our lives now are vivid, even if we live in a place that may be drab, or rundown, or shabby. I often ponder this juxtaposition; this photo illustrates it so nicely for me.

I am constantly drawn to this. And I'm back again.

And with my last breath
I gave my labored heart with wings
To the lone robin
That my hope may know
A better place.

A very haunting image. The red dress sets off nicely against the background.
Guest 31-Oct-2006 10:50
Nicely done. Old and new bright and muted. Yet, from her body language she somehow seems to belong to the scene behind her.

royalld24-Oct-2006 18:40
Bravo... outstanding candy for the starving imagination.
The only way this could be more poignant is if she were barefooted.
J. Scott Coile24-Oct-2006 16:20
No more popping color than red in that scene!!! Well composed.
jude24-Oct-2006 14:26
This is an excellent photo - look at the way the building offsets her graceful beauty.

From the thumbnail, I thought she was wearing a hooded shawl of that color and I was thinking "an urban Little Red Riding Hood". So much to see... V.

she is so small in comparison to the massiveness of the building yet she carries the image.

No words...From the thumbnail I hoped, I was nearly sure that the red spot was a walking woman, she run away silently for a Hopper's picture to get shelter in yours.

Incongruous presence, colors, youth in this decaying environment. Incongruous quietness also: it does not look like a usual place for a walk. Very well done. Voted.

Like a scene from a movie. Excellent!
shatterbug24-Oct-2006 04:24
Agree with Duncan! I like where you placed her also, not too prominent, giving us a chance to take in all the details of those decaying buildings. Her brightly colored dress balances the shot nicely. V.
