I wrote a caption under his picture..that's how he introduced himself..no more..no less..I wasn't sentimentalizing about anything..

I'm not sure how this portrait is different than what you've seen from me..I've been posting since 2003 and pride myself on variety..I hope my images do not fit a mold..
I am involved, my child is still in Afghanistan after 4 tours in Iraq..he's an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal AF Sgt.) his life is on the line 24/7..He continues to sacrifice, leaving his wife and two sons for each deployment..which makes a total of 5..He never complains because it was his choice to join our armed forces..

No apology necessary..it's a portrait I took of a man with character..he just happened to be homeless and a vet..he seemed quite happy with his life and never asked for one cent..in fact he made me a beautiful rose out of palm leaves..

Excellent portraiture. A bit different than I have seen from you?

[[Please forgive me, I really hesitate to say this but, a homeless Vietnam veteran? In this society that is a given. But you know those guys on the street
corner hawking for money? The young guys. The ones that act funny. The ones that are drunk, of high? Some of those are our veterans from the first
Iraqi war or the current wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. Our valiant defenders are forgotten. They are left in the lurch. Excuse me, but sentimentalizing about
what should be or what could be just doesn't cut it. You have to become involved. CONTACT with you representatives is crucial. Educate yourself, their
survival and our survival depend on it. Family members of our brave and valiant defenders can substantiate this need. Please!!!]]

Again, I apologize. Beautiful and wonderful photo.

Awesome capture of this man. So many of the homeless I have met are Vietnam Vets. So sad. His eyes have a sad feel to them.

He deserves more than being homeless.
He should at least get a breakfast date with a beautiful woman.

The pain lingers. Great candid with such a hard life story.
