Some consider this small remote temple to be the pinnacle of Hindu art and architecture in Angkor. It is built from a redish-pinkish sandstone which appears magnifcent in the sunlight. The carvings are amongst the most delicate you can see in Angkor.
Construction began in 987 AD, and it is one of th few temples in Angkor not to have been constructed by a King, but by a Brahman, thought to have been a tutor of Jayavarman V.
