When my mother brought me to a photo studio in Quang Tri city
to have this picture taken, she didn't know that
the city will be lost to the VCs on May 1st, 1972
and along with reporter Doan Ke Tuong, I will be one of the first two combat-photographers
to cross the minefield at Truong Phuoc River
on our way through The Street of Horror
toward the city on the bank of Thach Han River.
