In close proximity to Queen Mary, under the white dome, was the resting place of Howard Hughes's flying boat "Spruce Goose". It was the Spruce Goose that I wanted to see most of all, but it was moved to a new location, somewhere in the state of Oregon. I would have gone to Oregon to see it, but the construction of the museum, where it was to be stored, was not complete and the flying boat was not available for viewing.
