Boy, I sure remember the huricane parties, picnics, and the marina. Why they never restored this club is beyond me. I use to take boat rides with Dallas after he was done taking people out snorkeling. Yea, that is going back, but i was a regular there for many years. My hair was darker and I was skinny, but Eleuthera still remains the island you are always searching for. Visit me at ashworthdive.com and see if you remember me. I got my CMAS diving card from Pinky who wanted a little more than to buddy dive. My first trip to this club was greated with everyone around the bar singing "You may not get laid, but you'll learn to juggle." I looked at my wife and asked her what she got me into. It only took three days and I had transformed into a Club Medder! I visited from the mid 80's until the club closed. I was there for two huricanes and befriended Bruce the bus driver. I sure do miss it. I find myself looking at property there often. Thanks for the memories in these pictures. Jim

Frederique thanks for the pics. This is very moving for me as it was one of the best holidays we ever had in life. This was for me and our 2 girls like paradise (summer 95). I traveled a lot snce then but nothing compared to Eleuthera pinky sandy beach. As I read recently evrything has been demolished and a new luxury resort called "French Leave" is beeing built. Thanks again.

This was the best vacation we have ever had. Our children were small. I would waterski, and my husband would sail. The friends we met were unforgettable. I loved this place. If the atlantic side was too rough, you could walk across the island to the other side. Club Med, take it back!!

WES(SPORTS TEAM) I STARTED WORKING AT CLUB MED AT THE AGE OF 12YRS OLD AFTER SCHOOL IN THE EVENING,DURING THE SCHOOL SUMMER BREAK. MY HOME WAS AND STILL IS TEN MINUTE WALK FROM THE VILLAGE. IT WAS THEN AND AT THAT AGE I KNEW A "GO" IS WHAT I WANTED TO BE,I MASTERED MANY WATER SPORTS AT THE MARINA AT AN EARLY AGE THANKS TO THE GREAT "GENTILE ORGANISER" OVER THE YEARS. STUMBLING ON THESE PICTURES REMINDS ME OF THE MANY GREAT PEOPLE AND FRIENDS I HAVE MET AND WORKED WITH.AFTER WORKING AT FIVE DIFFERENT VILLAGES, BESIDES ELEUTHERA BEING HOME IT STILL REMAINS MY FAVORITE CLUB MED OF ALL, NOT TO TAKE AWAY FROM THE QUALITIES THAT THE OTHER VILLAGES OFFERED.

This was my fourth village, and I married another GO I met here. Eleven years strong now. Is anyone intreseteed in a former GO web site? I'm thinking of starting one up. Find old friends, lovers etc. I was here for Andrew and have great after the hurricane photos.

My first Club Med village. I came as a guest and ended up working for the Club four more seasons after this - I could have done all of my seasons here. Paradise on Earth. Forget Disneyland, this is "the happiest place on earth". The locals and the GO team made this place for me. Beautiful location and beautiful people. Many of the friends I made here are still with me today and are some of my best friends. I will always have a place in my heart for Eleuthera.

This was my first village with Club Med. I worked here during the summer season in 1990. Thank you for posting these pictures. They bring back memories of my all the wonderful times spent in this beautiful place.

This is so cool! My friends passed this page on to me, we were all GO's at Club Med Eleuthera at some point between 1989 and 1992. As my good friend Jane said..."oh the good ol' days of pink sand, Fish Buffet, buying a beer with 3 yellow beads, doing the French can-can, playing dominos at Ronnie's and face painting 50 kids in 30 minutes! I was a G.O. at Club Med Eleuthera Nov 1987 - May 1988. Thank you for this beautiful collection of photographs of this wonderful Club Med village. I especially like the diversity of the pictures at the village as well as the ones outside of the village. I was responsible for the transportation of the guests to/from the island so the picture from inside the taxi while on the road to the airport, and the photograph of the Key Air Charter plane are both very meaningful to me.
