100th Anniversary - Church of the Crossroads

Lamoille, Nevada's first church service was on June 20, 1872.
Over the next twelve long years church services
were sometimes few and far between. Financing was a problem,
multitude of preachers passed through.
On November 5, 1905 the Lamoille Presbyterian Church
was finally dedicated.

It's now affectionately known as the Little Church of the Crossroads
and is one of the most visited and well documented historic
buildings in the county. It proudly stands in the scenic
ranching community of Lamoille, Nevada.

This gallery is dedicated to this beautiful church of our community.
These photographs have been taken throughout the years
and different seasons ... with the last group of photos shot at the
100th anniversary celebration on November 5, 2005.

Thank you for taking these gorgeous pictures of our church. I am the pastor at the Lamoille church as of May 1, 2010. We would love to have you take a tour, or join us for worship at 10:15 during the year and 9 during the summer. Please stay for country cooking afterwards! Our children could eat and play ball in the yard together while we get to know each other. Pastor Mary

thank you kindly for sharing this special little church, and a big piece of history. my relatives were true pioneers of Elko and Lamoille (Mildred & Allan McBride), and i will always hold a special place in my heart for it. When ever I feel bad, i just look at these photos and remember that little church and the Ruby Mountains.

What a beautiful gallery of this small town church. You can almost feel the history of this place as I look at these excellent photographs of the quaint little church. This a very lovely series. V John
