A Little About Nestor Derkach
A native of New York City ,Manhattan's lower east side, served in United States Air Force ,stationed at Dover Air Force Base ,met my wife Paulette at Rehoboth Beach and stayed in Delaware .
I have always loved art, photography, and even did some oil painting many years ago,birds, landscapes and a little bit of basic figure drawing.
I am a 67 year old retired field mechanic from the Sunoco Oil Refinery in Marcus Hook PA after 30 years of sevice.
Great company to work for and enjoyed the 30 years working there with some really sharp mechanics.
Three months after retiring I battled the big C for a year and now am a consider myself a survivor, 5 years C free.
I am married for 40 years to Paulette a great gal, who will be retiring this year.
Have two great daughters who are also my best friends, and a wonderful grandson who is 12 years old and a great bowler .
I have a love for photography, maybe lets call it an obsession in creating memories.
I enjoy watching and photographing birds,challenging and very rewarding when they give you there best pose.
I look at my images often, more than if they were in a photo album.
I find post processing a image a challenge because most images can be improved in some way.
I joined Pbase as a trial thing to see if I would like it, I have found it very educational seeing what the rest of humanity does with a camera, mind and there artistic eye.
I love the exif data attached to images they are a great learning tool .
I enjoy viewing and reading what people have to say in comments.
I vote often on images I like, and I alway keep in mind most of us do this out of love of capturing and sharing images and not always proffesional and learning as we go along.
So for me an image does not have to be technically perfect , I just have to like it instantly and then I decide why I feel that way , and I try to describe this in my comments.
I want to thank all who visit my galleries and leave such nice comments and votes when deserving , I will always try to visit yours as soon as I can ,and I am sure to leave a comment and vote on a worthy image or gallery .
