In Victorian times, ladies were not allowed to grow or to view orchids. It was deemed unseemly, for the Victorians knew what Georgia O'Keefe later denied she was showing: these are sex organs. What beauty! What a musky and lemony air filled the hall! Each of these gorgeous blossoms was a delight to the senses.
