Orchids - too Wanton for Ladies

In Victorian times, ladies were not allowed to grow or to view orchids. It was deemed unseemly, for the Victorians knew what Georgia O'Keefe later denied she was showing: these are sex organs. What beauty! What a musky and lemony air filled the hall! Each of these gorgeous blossoms was a delight to the senses.

Beautiful portraits, Ells. They're a lovely array of colorful images. Might have added a little more light to brighten them up a bit.

I love Georgia O'Keefe's flower portraits (and own a number of lovely orchids) - thank you for sharing these sumptuous orchid photos : ) ....... oh yes, and I am a lady!!
