Wrecking Crew

Demolition from the rear of the Wichita Eagle newspaper. A new location for the paper has opened. It does not provide the efficient job of the old one. The newspapers are now printed in an area far from Wichita and the most recent world news is missing.

A sad sight - history being obliterated - new generations will never understand ! V

I can relate to this. Brings back memories of what went wrong with Copley Newspapers and their northern Illinois group. Lots of missteps. Nothing stays the same, sadly.

The readership is too dumb and/or disinterested for world news. The era of newspapers has passed.

Nice photojournalism shot, Neil. The internet is killing off the papers. That and the obsession with trivia, as David mentioned below. V

difficult to find space for world news with celebrity trivia so dominant these days...the end of an era effectively captured..

Such an incredible way to document the changes that seem to overwhelm a sense of continuity

Great capture of this busy scene, Neil.. I believe newspapers are going to be a thing of the past at some point.

Maybe it's best not to read any news anymore, too depressing. Sometimes I feel like our world is coming apart just like this building. Enough depressing thoughts... I like this well balanced image with much to see and an interesting sky.
