Glen Echo Park

Glen Echo Park began in 1891 as a Chautauqua Assembly (an educatonal and recreational group with a program that includes lectures, concerts, etc.) which taught the arts, sciences, languages, and literature. By the early 1900s it had become an amusement park for the Washington, DC area. In 1971 the National Park Service took over the management of the park and, working with artists and arts organizations, created an arts program in the spirit of the earlier Chautauqua Assembly. Here are a few images captured when I arrive early for the class I am presently taking there at Photoworks. For more info see http://www.glenechopark.org.
