It is a "patten leather" beetle (you can see why), or "bess bug". Beetle family Passalidae. They live in rotted wood. They squeak to each other to communicate. Sometimes you can hear them going at it in old sawdust piles at saw mills. I think the green may be reflection of trees above? I think I can also see sky and clouds there! Nice shot!
