FALL COLORS

Along the road to Mount Mitchell on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mount Mitchell is the highest mountain peak east of the Mississippi River (6684 feet). ISO 100. Stabilizer setting #2. Other camera settings were: Contrast: +1; Sharpness: 0; Saturation: +1; Noise Reduction: 0. Cropped and modified in PhotoShop Elements 5.0.

Indieke: I leave the stabilizer on all the time, when I am hand holding the camera (usually on #2 position). It really doesn't hurt anything and I figure I need all the help I can get. When I mount the FZ18 mounted on a tripod (for macros, etc.), I turn it off to save battery life. My Nikon lenses with stabilization must be turned off when tripod mounted, but the FZ18 manual does not indicate you must do that. It does extend battery life though. Thanks for the good words. Nice pictures Bill. I noticed you did use again the image stabiliser. I never did. What are the cons of using this? Why did you use it here as light was not an issue and you did not zoomed in that much?
