TWEETSIE RAILROAD STEAM TRAIN - BOONE, NORTH CAROLINA

The engine was built in 1917, by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Baldwin's Engine Numbers 10, 11, 12 and 14 (narrow gauge "Ten Wheelers") were owned and operated by the East Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad. Those engines were unique in their design and were possessed by no other railroad in the world. Number 12 was the only one saved from scrapping, in 1950.
