This limited edition watch was issued by the Vostok Watch Company to commemorate the December 1989 Malta Summit. At that summit, President George H. W. Bush met with U.S.S.R. leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, in Malta. The first meeting was held on the Russian cruiser "SLAVA". The final summit meeting was held on the guided missile cruiser, USS BELKNAP. The names of both ships may be seen on the watch face.
