This little bird was trapped in our garage overnight and was at one of the windows, trying to get out. The bird could barely fly and was obviously in trouble. I managed to get the bird to land on a broom, took it outside and placed it on top of a bush.
The bird sat on the bush for about 20 minutes, making no effort to fly away. I went into the house and got a small paper cup, filled it with a quantity of liquid hummingbird food and placed it in front of the bird. The hummer took several long drinks from the bowl and then flew off into the woods.
When I told my wife what had happened, she said the bird simply must have been out of "gas"! :-)
