GO-PRO HERO2 EXTREME VIDEO/STILL CAMERA

Some photos of my Outdoor Edition Go-Pro Hero2 video/still camera. From the moment you first pick up one of these cameras, you are struck by just how VERY small and light they are. But, in this case, big things definitely come in small packages.

The Go-Pro Hero2 is a very compact camcorder, designed to record extreme sports and adventures. The camera comes in three main sets (same camera, but different accessories). Mine is the Outdoor Edition, which is shipped with a waterproof (down to 197'/60.05m), a vented helmet strap, a head strap, various surface adhesive mounts and other assorted mounts, cables and hardware.

The Go-Pro2 is widely used in extreme sports, such as biking, skiing, skating, kayaking, diving, surfing, skydiving and motorsports. It is also widely used by more professional athletes, sports filmmakers and core enthusiasts than any other camera in the world. With a 32 GB memory card (Class 4 or higher ..... Class 10 recommended), the Hero2 will record up to 4 hours of 1080p HD video. Various shooting formats are available (full wide-screen, etc.) and the field of view may be varied from 127 degrees up to a VERY wide 170 degrees.

The Go-Pro also takes excellent 11 megapixel still photos. In addition it has 10-shots/second capability for stills and allows VERY nice time-lapse video segments (various recording settings, starting at 1 shot every .5 seconds).

The basic Go-Pro Hero2 camera does not come with a rear LCD. If you don't purchase the optional LCD BacPac, camera configurations and settings must be done via a small front LCD, using various codes. That's doable, but I HIGHLY recommend that anyone buying this camera seriously consider getting the optional LCD BacPac. It's relatively inexpensive and just makes camera operation so much easier, only adding minimum weight and size to the unit.
