A few days ago,the Rideau Canal was completely (almost) void of water in order to prepare for it's forthcomming Ambassador winter function. Annually, in late December, providing Mother Nature is in full agreement, this world renown "Rideau Canal" becomes the "world,s longest skating rink", as well as becomming a major tourist attraction. The Canal has over 7 kilometers of groomed ice, taking skaters from Dow's Lake to the National Arts Center and back again. In the far distance is a Chateau! Yes, another world renown landmark - The Chateau Laurier Hotel.
